May 19, 2007 at a private wedding and then the Crystola Roadhouse

Man oh man what a day! First we got to play at Michelle and Jan's wedding in Colorado Springs where we met a neat bunch of
people along with a lot of old friends from the mountains, then we had to tear down and set back up at the Crystola Roadhouse
for a second gig.  Last night there was a birthday party celebrated by a  motorcycle club called "The Boozefighters" (Colorado
chapter 24) and it was something else. Around thirty of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet all got together and had a party
and we were part of it. Check out the history of the Boozefighters (est. 1946) on their website. They were the original "Wild Ones"
and the movie starring Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin made back in the '50s was all about them. Anyway we made such an
impression on them that they invited us to play a street festival benefit in Victor, Colorado June 30, 2007 and it promises to be a
blast! If you're out riding on that day be sure and stop at Victor to meet some great folks and hear The Baddogs Band

This was really cool. They set up a big festival tent right next to the pool where we played. It was kinda cold outside with the wind
and all, but they had thought of everything and also had 2 propane heaters that kept it comfortable. What a great bunch of folks!
In spite of the fact that our guitars had to be re tuned every 15 minutes because of the temperature changes,  everybody liked our
music and as a result we got a new gig out of it. The catering was excellent and the food was tops. All in all a good time was had
by all. Oakley had to put his steel guitar in 4 wheel drive to cope with the stage area (6 inches of grass and a bit hilly) but the rest
of us managed to cope quite well. Tonight we're back at the Crystola Roadhouse. Hope to see you there.

This is the first time that The BadDogs Band played Laura Belle's that it didn't snow! Hurrah!! Once a month Laura Belle's puts on
a special afternoon event and this time it was a Hawaiian barbecue of slow-roasted pork and man was it good. We had to tie a
winch  to Richard to tow him away from the food. That guy can eat!! Once again, a good time was had by all and we got kudos on
our music. That always feels good. Next Saturday we're at the Pine Gables Inn so if you're in the area drop by and have a beer and
a dance (or two, or three.)

Again (I think that's what it's called) from Fleetwood Mack that just blew me away. We're going to make that part of the act now. We
tried out some new material again last night that seemed to go over well, at least nobody threw anything at us. Next Friday we're at
the Ute Inn again, so put on your helmet and knee pads and join us for a rockin' night.

Man it was hot today! It got even hotter when Richard and Oakley laid down their "Rocky Mountain country-fried chicken-picken'"
on Long Time Gone in the first set. Those guys can play!! It's always a blast listening to them. The crowd had a great time as usual
and D.J. showed up to take some new pictures. Tomorrow we're at the Crystola Roadhouse so if you're in the area stop in and say

The weather just keeps getting hotter and hotter. Darrel had a lot of traffic today from Harley riders who stopped in for a beer, and
tonight was no exception. We had all the tables packed and some more folks from Dusseldorf, Germany who are on vacation came
in and danced up a storm. I'm going to give them a call when I go to Germany in the Fall. We finally decided to do a sound check
before we started playing (in the past the sound has been adjusted during the first song) and it worked out great. Bill is a real
trooper with his shoulder - he doesn't miss a beat even during the fast songs. I discovered some Texans hiding in a corner so I
lured them (and a lot of others) out on the dance floor with the "Cotton Eyed Joe" on fiddle. That song is a lot of fun to play but you
need a big dance floor to pull it off. We'll be here again next week too.

See ya next week,
Dave
June 29 & 30, 2007 at The Crystola Roadhouse

It keeps getting better and better! The place was packed both nights and we had a lot of new folks along with our old friends. Our
friends from Düsseldorf, Germany were back again to say "Auf Wiedersehen" and I told them I would give them a call when I'm in
Germany in September. That will be one fun get-together. Stephen Stills gave a concert in Cripple Creek Saturday night and a lot
of folks came to see us after the concert. The concert was great they say, even though Stephen had to fight the altitude. Many folks
don't realize just how high we are up here until they actually try to do something, then they're reminded real fast. Next week we're
playing 4 times so check out the calendar and give us a visit.

Take care,
Dave

Talk about wind! We lucked out 'cause it didn't rain on us but man what a storm. The event was called off after our show because of
weather. Everybody did a great job to make it a great concert but the weather was against us. Someone saw a tornado forming not
too far away so we called it quits.  Maybe next time...

Take care,
Dave
